위성영상, DEM, Classified 이미지로부터 구간을 정의하여 다른 형태의 산출물을 생성하고 싶을때가 종종발생한다.
이럴때 해당 객체를 정의해서 사용하면 시각적인 효과를 얻을수 있다.
예를 들어, 고도값을 가진 Band로부터 5개 구간의 고도를 등분하여 색상을 재 정의하여 도시하고 싶은 경우, 해당객체를 사용하게 되면 원하는 산출물을 생성이 가능하다.
